First session went well. We got the core of the song and a rough idea of how we want it to sound like. We're thinking of a very "90's teenage angst with a twist" sounding track. With a "couldn't care less" style of guitar playing, heavy drums, orchestral background, a bit of sampling here and there, and a lazy vocal flowing through the song.

The Symbol Of?

This is our new logo, or symbol. Instead of having a very complicated looking symbol to represent us, I believe that this should be sufficient to remain in your heart, mind and soul. Henceforth we shall be known as LDD for short. Let us know what you think of the new symbol.

Genesis
Hello and farewell! My name is Rainer Yong. You can call me Rainer.
Yes I choose to say my good-byes at the begining of my post to save time at the end. If that didn't make sense, God help you.
I hope the title speaks for itself. This is the very first post from us at Locust Day Dream.
Okay in a nut shell....Locust Day Dream is a band that started off in Kuala Lumpur some time around 2006 with just me on the guitars and vocals. I was performing at small functions at that time as a solo artist. After moving back to Kota Kinabalu, the band slowly evolve when i dragged my sister Rachel into the scene as the drummer for the band. By then we had a handfull of songs at our disposal to be recorded.
Unfortunately we never had the time or money to do so. We recorded a demo track in 2007 titled "Admiration" under Decipher but the mixing was never completed due to both myself and Rachel were to busy and that project came to a stop.
Fast forward to July 2008. A good friend of ours, Dinoza ask if Locust Day Dream wanted to perform at the upcoming Sabahan Bloggers Gathering event on the 2nd of August 2008. At first I gave a reluctant yes, but thinking about the whole time I've been missing from the scene made me want to perform.
I got into talking with another good friend of mine Decipher, and asked him if he wants to join the band on a permenant basis. It was a kick ass day when he said yes because we've known each other for quite some time and share the same musical taste and vision. We've been siting around the studio these past few days to do some recording and mixing for a quick EP to be released at the Sabahan Bloggers Gathering event.
The new and reformed Locust Day Dream will be making it's first appearance at the SBG event this coming Saturday. We'll be selling our EP as well, so SUPPORT US! :D
Keep a look out for this site, we'll be giving out goodies if you pay close attention.
Only if you pay close attention. Ciao!
